Safety and Background Screening Assurance

At Lambda D-R-E-A-M Academy, the safety and well-being of every young participant come first. All members of Kappa Lambda Chi and anyone working directly with our D-R-E-A-M Program must complete a mandatory background screening before any in-person interaction with our youth programs.

These screenings are performed through the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI): a trusted, nationally recognized organization that specializes in youth protection. This ensures every mentor and volunteer is properly vetted, qualified, and cleared to uphold the integrity of our program.

For added protection, LAMBDA D-R-E-A-M Academy does not collect or store any personal information. All screenings are conducted and managed securely through NCSI’s private system.

Parents can feel confident knowing these safeguards are in place so every child learns, grows, and leads in a safe and respectful environment.

Mentorship Supporting Statement – Building Character and Leadership

Through our mentorship programs, we pair youth with military mentors who instill discipline, resilience, and leadership skills essential for personal and professional success.

One-on-One Coaching: Personalized guidance from military mentors to help youth set goals, build self-confidence, and develop life skills.
Group Leadership Workshops: Interactive sessions on teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, modeled after military leadership principles.
Community Engagement & Service Projects: Hands-on experiences that encourage civic responsibility, teamwork, and community contribution.
*Battle Buddies Peer Mentoring Network: A national peer mentoring platform where children of wounded warriors are paired with other military dependents to build emotional resilience and offer mutual support. This unique element includes virtual mentoring options with rotating leadership themes such as coping with PTSD in the family, transitions, and living with invisible wounds.

Those students who attended the informational overview brief from the local chapter D-R-E-A-M representative and meet the requirements should be officially registered and accepted for enrollment.

SOP FOR POCs and MENTORS

Youth Goals in Community

(1) Help increase reading and comprehension levels in all students in our communities by donating books to all pre-K and elementary students, establishing book clubs to engage males in reading, developing tutor programs.

(2) Assist in providing other organizations tools that foster stronger families and communities by working with men to be better fathers and positive role models.

(3) Improve high school graduation rate for males.

(4) Lambda D-R-E-A-M will NOT act as any recruitment tool to any Armed Forces career paths.

(5) Lambda D-R-E-A-M will provide student assistance for meeting their chosen career paths.

(6) Lambda D-R-E-A-M shall build and maintain a committee for acknowledging student achievement towards their career path at some point in the school term.
