Dr. Wayne Marcus was born in the Bronx, New York, and is a dedicated leader whose lifelong commitment to service, education, and mentorship continues to make a profound impact on his community.
He began his academic journey at South Bronx High School before earning an Associate Degree in Aerospace Technology from Farmingdale University in Long Island, New York. While on active duty, he continued his education, graduating from the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and earning both a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics and a Master’s in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence, he later completed a PhD in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Management.
He served 30 years of honorable Naval service, achieving the highest enlisted rank of Command Master Chief and completing three distinguished tours at sea, on shore, and in recruiting commands. As a senior leader, he oversaw more than 900 personnel during domestic and international operations, promoted ethical, value-based leadership strategies, and successfully managed a $1.2 million budget, saving $200,000. His initiatives included implementing four mentoring programs that improved promotion and retention rates through career development milestones. His military career is marked by numerous accolades, including the Meritorious Service Medal and Humanitarian Service Medals, reflecting his commitment to service that aligns with the mission of Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity, Inc., which he joined in 2017.
A passionate educator and mentor, Dr. Marcus has served as an adjunct instructor at two universities and as an executive advisor to Drug Education for Youth (DEFY) program leaders. He has delivered professional speeches to support community outreach efforts and continues to champion training and ethical development as the Chief Executive Officer of Lambda D-R-E-A-M Academy, where he leads the organization’s production, development, and training initiatives to prepare the next generation of leaders.
Mr. Louis York was born in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from Prospect Heights High School. He is dedicated to academic achievement, holding an Associate degree in General Education from Troy University, a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University, and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in [Field or University—fill in here].
In March 1991, Mr. York joined the U.S. Army, serving honorably for 21 years and retiring as a Sergeant First Class in 2012. He earned Military Occupational Specialties as a Combat Medic and Infantryman, deploying to Bosnia in support of Implementation Force (IFOR) and to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). His leadership included serving as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle Mechanized Leaders Course Instructor and Stryker New Equipment Instructor and course writer, where he mentored and trained over 1,000 soldiers, directly enhancing the Army’s infantry readiness and operational capabilities. After retiring, he continued to serve as a Liaison at the Infantry School, Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Mr. York is also deeply committed to teaching, mentorship, and community service. He currently works as a Mental Health Counselor, providing guidance and support to those in need. Since joining the fraternity in Fall 2016, he has remained dedicated to fostering youth programs and reliable mentoring resources. His commitment has led to his appointment as Lambda D-R-E-A-M Director of Scholarship and ROTC Programs, where he is responsible for identifying resources, grants, studentships, and other funding opportunities to support continuous education and the development of exceptional, resourceful youth leaders.
Mr. Ernest Brown II was born in Warner Robins, Georgia, and attended [XX] High School. He is currently enrolled at Grantham University, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, demonstrating his commitment to lifelong learning and personal development.
On March 13, 1996, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a 31L/25L Cable Wire System Installer, known as a "Cable Dawg," completing basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Over his 20 years of honorable service, he completed seven tours of duty at various installations, including a NATO assignment in The Netherlands and the prestigious White House Communications Agency in Washington, DC. His operational deployments included two tours to Film City, Pristina, Kosovo (NATO), and one tour to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He retired from the Army in April 2016 with a distinguished record of leadership and dedication.
Mr. Brown is deeply committed to mentorship and community development. He served as the Mentorship/Scholarship Committee Chair for the Iota Chapter in Augusta, Georgia, building a strong working relationship with Mayor Hardie Davis Jr. and his staff. Under his leadership, the committee actively supported the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) program, initiated by President Obama, to mentor young men across America. These local initiatives launched mentorship programs in several area schools, enhancing reading skills, social development, character traits, and positive behavior.
Since joining the fraternity in Summer 2016, Mr. Brown has continued this mission of service as Lambda D-R-E-A-M Director of Mentorship. In this role, he is responsible for developing resourceful, exceptional youth through dynamic initiatives, fostering a positive intellectual mindset, and guiding young men to make wise, informed decisions as they grow into responsible American citizens.
Mr. Tony Chappell Born and raised in XXXXX . A proud graduate of Galileo Magnet High School (2004), he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, later advancing his craft through specialized training in Advanced Photography and Advanced Editing.
With over 14 years of professional experience in photography, videography, and creative media direction, our Director of Social Media brings both artistry and leadership to the Lambda D-R-E-A-M Academy team. As the founder of TKC Photography LLC, he has mastered the art of storytelling through visual imagery, capturing the essence of people, events, and purpose with precision and passion.
His expertise spans wedding, portrait, and event photography, as well as advanced editing in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, and Premiere Pro. A seasoned educator and mentor, he has led workshops for aspiring photographers and videographers while managing production for major clients including the U.S. Marine Corps and Google.
With more than 200 hours of leadership training and over a decade of experience managing creative teams, he embodies our commitment to Partnership, Integrity, and Perseverance—bringing vision, discipline, and storytelling excellence to every digital platform.
Since joining the fraternity in Summer 2016, Mr. Chappell has continued this mission of service as Lambda D-R-E-A-M Director of Social Media . In his initial role, he will lead the development of our digital presence, managing social media strategy, visual branding, and content engagement across all platforms. His creative direction will ensure that every image, story, and message reflects the Academy’s mission to inspire, mentor, and empower future leaders.
